Fun ways to involve kids in giving

Giving becomes most powerful when children are part of it. The B1G1 Family Program is designed to help kids understand that even small actions change lives. Here are a few ideas to get started:

  • Let them choose which project to support this month with their ‘Pocket Giving’.
  • Create a Giving Jar at home and talk about what each coin could do.
  • Link special impact with worthy efforts such as doing a family chore (e.g. dishwashing) or homework.
  • Take a look at project updates together and learn about families in other countries.
  • Celebrate every milestone with a fun family ritual, like a gratitude dinner or a thank-you note.

These shared experiences nurture curiosity, compassion and gratitude. They also build lifelong awareness of how small acts of kindness shape a better world.
